About
The Wayland Housing Production Plan (HPP) is a planning process that will guide the next five years of housing policy and development in Wayland, Massachusetts. The plan will produce analysis of Wayland’s housing needs, housing stock, and housing market, as well as the Town’s local housing policies, zoning bylaw, and more. The process will convene members of the public to discuss the community’s unique housing needs, set local housing goals, and weigh potential strategies to achieve those goals.
Wayland’s Planning Department is leading the process in the community, with assistance from urban planning consultants Outwith Studio and Beals Associates, Inc. The plan was funded through Wayland’s Community Preservation Committee. The process kicked off in fall 2026 and will run through spring 2027, when a completed planning document will be submitted for adoption by the Select Board and Planning Board. The current process is an update to Wayland’s last HPP, which was adopted in 2022 and expires in 2027.
